Mission engineering and planning are the first steps of development.

VZLUSAT-1 was planned as one of 50 similar satellites of the international QB50 mission. Both the orbit and mission requirements and conditions have been determined together for all 50 nanosatellites. The development of individual satellites was within the competence of separate teams that had to meet the requirements of the QB50 mission and adaptation of the satellite to the FIPEX scientific apparatus. Further development of subsystems and own experiments were led by VZLU. The creation of production documentation and the documentation for installation and testing of the satellite are an integral part of engineering. The enclosed diagrams are only a sample of the large amount of documentation required to meet the mission's requirements and needs.
